About the Blog
We launched Lofty Ambitions on July 1, 2010. Our blog focuses on aviation and space exploration, science of the twentieth century and beyond, and writing as a couple. While we had initial informational posts, you can read our first post HERE. Read our first anniversary post HERE.
We post something every Wednesday and have since the blog’s inception.
We have a guest blogger on first and third Mondays of the month. We began this feature on September 27, 2010, with a piece by film producer Christopher Cowen. You can read that first guest post HERE.
We have a YouTube channel HERE and introduced a video interview segment on May 23, 2011. You can view that first interview with Johnson Space Center Director Michael Coats HERE.
While we have a variety of interests, two world events captivated our attention in the first year of our blog: the end of the space shuttle program and various things nuclear. Tags and the search tool can help locate these and other topics.
While we’ve had numerous posts on space exploration and the shuttle, our first series on the space shuttle is “Countdown to the Cape”; it ran October 27-November 7, 2010, to document the last mission of Discovery. Our second shuttle series is “A Launch to Remember,” which documents the last mission of Endeavour, an orbiter we plan to follow home to California; the conclusion of the series can be viewed HERE and includes links to the other posts in the series, plus a photo post HERE. Our series to document Atlantis‘s last mission begins with the post on July 5, 2011 (and a guest post on July 4, which you can view HERE).

Good to hear you guys find time to open an interesting topic for blogging. I have been reading your posts now and hope to read more and more posts from you soon.
Have a great day!
